5 Ways Leaving America Has Impacted My Life
When we first decided to sell all our belongings, buy a one way ticket to Mexico and leave America we had no idea how much it would change our lives.
Many people did not agree with our decisions but we did not allow us to deter us. Why not? I realised the very people that were warning us of the dangers of Mexico’s cartel had never stepped foot out of the United States.
Our original plan was to leave for 6 months, go back to America, work and stack money then leave again. Living abroad at least 6 months out of the year. However, 3 months into living in gorgeous Playa del Carmen, MX I was hooked. My life had drastically changed, I was watching the sunrise over the Caribbean Sea each day, riding my bike through the neighbourhood and eating mangos on the beach after doing yoga with my friends. This was the life. I asked myself, “ What if we actually escaped the Matrix? What are we going back to? How do we go back to selling all our time again?
