How to Obtain Your Vietnam Visa -US Passport Holders

Before entering Vietnam you must have a valid visa. But no need to fear it is easy and can be done from the comfort of your home.

There are plenty of sites to obtain your approval letter but this one has the best price as of ( Feb 2019) There is not an official site, all sites are through agents. You can also apply through the embassy, but you may be required to have a return ticket. I did not need a return ticket when using the website below.

After filling out the application you will receive a confirmation letter, reply to this e-mail as confirmation. In about 2-3 days you will receive your approval letter.

Here is what you need when you arrive to Vietnam :

  • Passport

  • Print out the approval letter and the application. Fill out the application. ( You will turn this into the Visa on Arrival officer)

  • 2X2 Passport photo with a white background

  • $25 USD for the 1-3 month single entry visa. ( See Visa Fees above for the other prices of long-term visas.)

You will turn all these documents into the Visa on Arrival officer. They will make you wait. ( We waited about 5 minutes ) Then call you back to the counter and give you your passport with your visa sticker. You will then go to immigration to get your stamp.

That’s it! Super easy right!?
