5 New Veggie Spots in Da Nang to Check Out

Before moving to Vietnam I heard mixed reviews about the vegan selections here. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I came with an open heart and mind and figured if it’s too bad I could always just cook at home. Da Nang is growing rapidly and there are new veggie places popping up about every month. I took a few weeks to try them all out and I was very impressed with the new selection of chay restaurants. My favorite Vietnamese dish is currently the banh xeo which is a crispy crepe filled with veggies then wrapped in rice paper and dipped in sweet and sour sauce. Yummm! My favorite place to get this dish is

Banh Xeo at Loving Vegan

Banh Xeo at Loving Vegan

Da Nang is known for their fresh seafood but there’s a huge Buddhist community so there’s also plenty of veggie places with traditional Vietnamese dishes and also Western cuisine at any budget. You can find these just about everywhere. Many of these places are not fancy at all and are often in a family’s home with tables and chairs out from, these dishes start at about 15k.

Depending on what you’re looking for there is something for everyone. Here are five new spots that have recently opened in Da Nang, Vietnam. New spots are opening almost monthly and I hope to try them all.

Chay means vegetarian so if you see this sign, stop on in.

  1. Loving Vegan

Loving Vegan is a brand new veggie place that is fully vegan serving vietnamese dishes with a few Western dishes like burritos, gyros, fries and sandwiches. The cauliflower wings are out of this world. The sauce reminds me of the KFC honey BBQ wings back in ‘96. The other dishes were just okay so be sure to try those wings. I also heard the flan was very good but they were sold out so I wasn’t able to try it. The prices range between 35k - 60k. They also have a range of coffee and smoothies.
