Living in South America vs Southeast Asia as a Single, Solo, Black Woman

As a black solo female digital nomad, I have had the opportunity to live and explore various regions of the world. After spending considerable time in Southeast Asia, I embarked on a new adventure in South America, specifically in Colombia and Peru. The contrasting cultures, landscapes, and experiences between these two regions have been both intriguing and eye-opening.

In this blog post, I will share my firsthand experiences of living in South America, comparing it to my previous adventures in Southeast Asia. From the bustling markets of Chiang Mai to the vibrant streets of Medellin, from the tranquil beaches of Bali to the majestic mountains of the Andes, I have immersed myself in the unique flavors, traditions, and ways of life in both regions.

As a black woman traveling alone, I have encountered different challenges and triumphs in each region, and I will reflect on the similarities and differences I have observed as I navigated through the diverse cultures of Colombia and Peru. I will also share practical tips and insights for fellow black digital nomads who may be considering a similar journey to South America.
